I’m planning to throw in this year with Dreadtober, a community effort now in its fourth year to all just kind of arbitrarily commit to painting Dreadnoughts in the coming month because they’re awesome. I’d actually been thinking about painting up next this Redemptor I’ve had sitting around forever while I’m on a painting roll post-NOVA when I saw Todd’s post. Fortuitous timing, so I I’m in!

Medea Refinery @ 2+ Years
Did some very very light touchup work on my Medea Refinery this past weekend: Some chipping, mostly where the gravel on the bases popped off; and regluing a ladder and two antennas. I’m very excited about how well it’s held up through a lot of play over the past ~28 months, including two NOVAs, two LibertyHammers, some smaller tournaments, and everyday play knocking around amid the public collection at Redcap’s. A testament that somewhat detailed terrain can also be robust.
Pig Wars
Yesterday I went up to Maplewood Hobby in northern NJ for a low key Infinity ITS event. I’d never been there, and it was neat to be in a well stocked hobby shop for the first time in a bit. Lots of terrain supplies and tools. The tournament was good. But the game going on upstairs looked super awesome—
The ruleset in play is Pig Wars: When Men Were Men and Pigs Were Money. I believe it’s set in the 11th century. Besides fighting, a major part of matches is acquiring booty to keep your troops supplied. Such as by, for example, stealing pigs.
