The Deep Game
- "No, that can't be a mistake. No one would leave themselves so unprotected. He's got to be playing some kind of deep game, we just don't see it. Seriously, you realize those defenders can't even fight my guys, right?"
The very pinnacle of strategy and tactics, cunning and surprise, the Deep Game is whatever plan of attack a seemingly hopelessly flailing opponent is secretly working on, ready to strike just as you've overextended your victorious forces and completely overturn the entire game. It is often associated with poor planning, apparently random actions, obvious bluffing, inscrutable or irrational personal objectives, and falling far, far behind in the game, but that is just the surface play, the cover to render the strategy completely indecipherable and ultimately unstoppable, of course.
